Rome's Night of Museums 2012 is back on Saturday, 6 October

The much anticipated event, which was to take place on 19 May and was postponed by the City Administration as a sign of mourning and grief for the Brindisi school bombing occurred on that same day, will be held on Saturday, October 6, with special late-night openings of the museums and other cultural venues, and free performances and shows.
The event is dedicated to the memory of Melissa Bassi, the fifteen-year year student who was killed in the attack.
This year, more than 60 important cultural and exhibition spaces of the city are open for the Night of Museums in Rome, 6 hours of a non-stop series of events, more than 150 free events and initiatives, including music, dance, cinema, theatre, readings.
Rome's Civic Museums, State-owned museums, historical museums of the Italian army, private spaces, municipal libraries, academies and foreign cultural institutions, schools and houses of culture will be open and free of charge from 8:00 pm to 2:00 am. You can visit for free the permanent and temporary exhibitions hosted in these museums, or attend concerts, performances and events.
