This year the “Natale di Roma” includes several meetings around the city with museums for free, extraordinary openings of Capitoline Museums and Domus Romane until 12 pm, the enlightening of the “Fori Imperiali” by Vittorio Storaro and the concert of the Academy of Santa Cecilia.

This year the “Natale di Roma” includes several meetings around the city with museums open for free, extraordinary openings of Musei Capitolini and Domus Romane until 12 pm, the lighting of the “Imperial Forums” by Vittorio Storaro and the concert of the Accademia of Santa Cecilia.

Extraordinary Openings, guided tours, free access into the museums, commemorations  and many other events that you can’t loose: this is the varied and richest cultural offer of “Roma Capitale” for the celebrations of the 2768th “Natale di Roma”.

FREE ENTRANCE INTO ALL THE CIVIC MUSEUMS (except for those that include exhibitions) AND CAPITOLINE MUSEUMS OPEN UNTIL 12 PM- Roman citizens and tourists can celebrate the Birthday of Rome by visiting for free all the “Musei in Comune” of “Roma Capitale”: Centrale Montemartini, Museo di Scultura Antica Giovanni Barracco, Museo delle Mura, Villa di Massenzio, Museo della Repubblica Romana e della Memoria garibaldina, Museo Napoleonico, Galleria d’Arte Moderna, Museo Carlo Bilotti, Museo Pietro Canonica, Musei di Villa Torlonia, Museo Civico di Zooologia, and the new Museo di Casal De’Pazzi.

An extra charge is included for the following museums; Musei Capitolini, Mercati di Traiano-Museo dei Fori Imperiali (exceptionally open until 5,30 pm), Museo dell’Ara Pacis, MACRO, MACRO testaccio, Museo di Roma In Palazzo Braschi and Museo di Roma in Trastevere.

Capitoline Museums will be extraordinary open until 12 pm and, starting from 8,45 pm, the museum will host two concerts of the JuniorOrchestra of the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia.

GUIDED TOURS BY THE SOVRAINTENDENZA STARTING FROM 21ST UNTIL 24TH OF APRIL Where you can admire the symbols of Rome such as Campidoglio…. We can say that what is notorius  it’s not necessarily known.

Starting from 21 of April for four following days the Sovraintendenza launches the iniziative “Rome means #Campidoglio#Lupa#Marco Aurelio and much more…,# masterpieces of arts#museums”: until April 24th, the civil servants of the “Sovraintendenza Capitolina” will offer to the citizens and the tourists 18 guided tours.

Free guided tours will be possible on 21st of April,  you can make a promenade whitin the history of Villa Borghese or to deepen your enquire into the Mercati di Traiano, or to get back to the 17th century within the “Galleria d’arte Moderna” or to the Pleistocenian age, inside the new Museum of Casal de’ Pazzi. A ticket must be paid for all the tours whithin the museums, starting from 22nd up to 24th of april, giving the opportunity of revisiting the exhibitions: “L’età dell’angoscia. Da Commodo a Diocleziano” (180 -305 b.J.C) inside the “Capitoline Museums”, the fourth event of the cycle “The days of Rome”;or the new exhibition “Feste Barocche  per inciso” whithin Palazzo Braschi Museo di Roma (a collection of fifty engravings of this celebration in Rome in the 17th century prints); the photographic exhibition “Roma e la Grande guerra. 1915-1918”, the Capital of Italy during the Great War, divided into 35 images, the exhibitions of the Museo di Roma in Trastevere with “PAIS del Cinema. Gli annid’oro del cinema italiano nel racconto per immagini di un grande fotografoand “I volti dell’alienazione, 40 pictures and subjects studied by the milanese artist and designer Roberto Sambonet and “LaRoma di Ettore Roesler Franz. Tra fascino per il pittoresco e memoria fotografica”.

The civil servants will guide you around Piazza del Campidoglio into an imaginary trip from the Middle Ages up to the Michelangel or will take you  to the Museo di Roma in Trastevere, among the images of the “Roma Sparita” by Ettore Roesler Franz or, again, to the beginning of the XIXth century, dealing with the places and the events of the Bonapartes  in Rome.

EXTRAORDINARY OPENING UNTIL TO 12 PM OF THE DOMUS ROMANAE- Palazzo Valentini will be open until 12 pm with its astonishing journey among the heirlooms  of the patrician “Domus”  of the Imperial age, belonging to the powerful families of those times. A journey among the mosaics, the decorated walls, the polychrome floors, the pavings and many other relics. The valorization of these places is supported by Piero Angela and a team of experts such as Paco Lanciano and Gaetano Capasso, by giving life to all those symbols of the past through virtual reconstructions, graphic effects and films.

-7,30 PM; FREE CONCERT for Rome of the JuniorOrchestra of the National Accademy of Santa Cecilia.

LIGHTING OF THE IMPERIAL FORA; - starting from April, tuesday 21st, The Imperial Fora will have  of a new lighting, planned and realized by the Oscar Vittorio Storaro and by the architect Francesca Storaro. The ceremony of inauguration will take place from 8,30pm between Alessandrina street and Largo Corrado Ricci (free entrance allowed only to credeted jounalists). The Forum of Nerva, the Forum of Augustus and The Forum of Trajan will be Illuminated.

ANASTYLOSIS OF THE FORUM OF CAESAR- It will be possible to see the first two columns, (among the seven of the project), all made of Egyptian marble of Assuan thanks to which, the Templum Pacis will revive.
